Camera+ 3.0.1 is out… now with more + than ever!

Camera+ 3.0.1 is now out in the wild. Here’s everything you have to look forward to in this über-plussified update…

  • we put the ability to import photos from your photo library back in Camera+… yay!
  • wait just a second there… WE NEVER REMOVED IT!!!!!… we changed the icon on the button to a + and moved it to the top-right corner of the Lightbox in version 3
  • by the way, in case you haven’t realized it by now, the import photos button is now a + button and is located in the top-right corner
  • you can now import multiple photos from your photo library at once (this was actually a version 3 feature, but it seems that one or two of you may have missed it… oh, and the button to access this wonderful, handy, time-saving, and useful feature is no longer the cryptic flowery-looking button wedged in the middle of the bottom toolbar in the Lightbox, but is instead a very prominent, logical, and dashing + button in the top-right corner).
  • we’ve updated the empty Lightbox graphic which used to refer to a button that used to be graphically represented by an angiospermæ and whose function was to import photos to now accurately reflect the current button which is now represented by the mathematical addition operator (ya know… “add photos”)
  • oh, that button that was just mentioned is now on the starboard side of the Lightbox, toward its apex
  • much regret and remorse
  • and a bunch of other bug fixes related to Facebook sharing, Twitter sharing, Flickr sharing APIs, crashes, yadda yadda yadda

After I installed camera+ 3 on my iPhone 4, it takes 10-15 seconds to start up the camera! Not really happy with version 3..

And where’s the iPad support? I think that is really needed with the brand new iPad.

Gonna be honest. By the time I got to the fifth bullet point, I was absolutely begging you guys to STFU about the stupid button. As much as I love being spoken to in the most condescending way possible, I took some issue with the absolute babble that was 90% of this changelog. Please, let this be the only changelog like this. Ever. No matter how warranted you guys obviously feel it is.

Anyone misread “über-plussified update” besides me? No?

Well anyway, thanks for all the fancy new features! I’mma go push that button SO HARD. >:O

Everytime I edit a photo in + and save it to the library, the date stamp is wrong when I upload to Facebook

What about a video feature ? Even a simple video mode without any special features.
Just to be able to remove the iPhone photo app…

Actually, the import seem much slower now and that button is not very friendly…honestly it was more natural before

Sweet, thanks for the sarcasm and condescension. Way more useful than something like adding a slider to control scene filters, new filters or video support.

I hate everything about taptaptap except for their app.

Wow. Why is everyone so angry and taking things personal? I read this post and laughed. If anything, they realized they made a bad UI call and changed it back to something more obvious.

I’m glad tap tap tap hit the 10 million mark … gives me hope that all the negativity here is the minority.

Love this app, people should use it instead of the built-in app, seriously.

Andres: they didn’t actually change anything in the update, the sarcastic comments were for those who couldn’t figure out the change between previous versions and 3.0. I didn’t even notice the change because it makes more sense this way IMO. Oh well, some people… You give a company 99c and they expect everything and the kitchen sink.

For all of you complainers: read HALF of the stupid questions from all the stupid askers that these guys get emailed, tweeted and/or FB’d and you would feel compelled to agree with the amount of condescending undertones in these release notes. I remember a time when people actually LOOKED FOR things, VS just waiting for someone else to find it for them, but I guess that is just too 5yrs ago…

Thank you tap tap tap, for releasing another good update- and for revealing all the insecure people here in the peanut gallery

    Nice +, guys!

Now, how about export to +? I’m talking exporting to Google+/Picasa! I need my backup there.

This change-log was absolutely hilarious. Ignore the overly sensitive complainers that couldn’t find the + button and keep up the good work.

For the record, I never had a problem adjusting to the 5.0 version of the import button. I just think the changelog reeks of condescending whining and disregard for any kind of professionalism toward paying customers. Maybe if it didn’t drag on so ridiculously long to make the same point 5 times it wouldn’t be so bad.

Oh wow … if they didn’t change anything, this post is even funnier. I also had no issues with the switch of buttons, so much so, that I guess I didn’t even remember how it changed – or that they didn’t change it back. I just know I’ve kept importing my images and liked the new “viewer” for the camera roll.

And yes, I’ve gotten so much out of these 99c compared to most any other app – that I’m never going to understand these replies and the need to not see this with a sense of humor.

I love this app!! I use it constantly on my iPhone. Now I feel it is the only thing missing from my new iPad. Please please please….. Let me get what I want.

I have a sense of humor, but I have to weigh in slightly in favor of those annoyed by the release notes. As a casual user of the app, I first realized that I was reading something that referred to something I was not familiar with, and found myself trying to figure out what feature it was talking about. Once I did, I realized half the bullet points were referring to that one thing.

All I can say is that I’m sure glad I’m a native English speaker, otherwise the release notes would have been a total cluster. I love humor, but in tech notes, it’s often better to accommodate all audiences, like people who are not experts with the software, or those for whom creative imagery in your language might not be mastered by one of your readers.

I second that Google+ share button!! Would be fantastic. Also I am experiencing major slow camera start up time when I click the app and it goes to the camera option. It goes black and takes 5-10 seconds until I can take a shot.

Anyone else with this odd problem?

a few of the comments following mine really proved my point. you don’t need our validation- you need to go away and come back when you have a better sense of humor. U know who I am talking about.

Again, thank you tap tap tap for an awesome camera app that didn’t fail to impress

Erm… I really don’t like the tone of voice in these changelogs. I don’t think I’ll be purchasing this app, now. I realize there may be some history and reasons for why that is… but this really doesn’t give a good first impression for someone who has never seen this app before.

I think the changelog is exceptional. The nautical bullet point really drove the point home for the often forgotten pirates and cruise directors using the app. Thanks tap.

I’m almost $51, and of all the categories of hobby-related products I’ve purchased over the years a great iOS app (which this is) is the cheapest by an enormous margin. We pay a tiny $1- $3 price for most of these things, can purchase them without moving an inch, get instant delivery, free upgrades, then complain about the tone of a changelog? I don’t get it.

    Hi,
I just noticed something strange when I import photos into Camera+. When I upload a 4mb photo into Camera+, the file size within Camera+ Info tab reads 2mb.. effectively cutting the file size in half. Are file sizes reduced or optimized while importing photos into Camera+ ?

My facebook app doesn’t seem to be recognized anymore since i installed the update? And when i publish pics via web facebook, they don’t show in the news feed or sometimes even get uploaded…:( someone who recognize this issue?

The app is awesome, but that last update didn’t work for me. When tapping the + sign to load shots from Camera roll nothing happens :(( There is just a black square with spinning circle :((( Please fix it asap!

My uploads are only going into the mobile uploads folders in fb; I can’t upload directly into other folders. I know you’re aware of this issue and I look forward to its fix. However, I have a second problem. All pics uploaded into the Mobile Uploads folder are coming in as “only me” privacy. I can only edit this when on a computer versus mobile device. This is very frustrating and prevents the entire point of sharing. :/ Hope this is also on your fix list.

Dagnabit! I found the issue and fixed it in my app privacy on fb. Hopefully it sticks. Not sure why it changed. Can’t wait til the update fixes the upload to user created folders…and loving the updates to flickr uploading. Thanks!

I have an iPod running iOS 5.1 and have camera+ 3.0.2 and the burst feature doesn’t work is it supposed to? Also what is the point of when you touch the screen that red circle appears?

I realise this may be a very stupid question, but here it goes. Sometimes when I import from my iphone cameraroll, it allows me to import multiple, but other times it just uploads one. I can’t seem to figure out how to move from one option to the other. I would prefer to import multiple. Can anyone assist?

  34. Bosco
    2:54pm, July 27, 2012

    to Lana:

I had that problem before, and the key is u have to turn on location services in setting for camera+.

off: add 1 by 1 from camera roll
on: add selected in one batch

    hope it helps

The App crashes constantly when exporting large files to the camera roll, I have tried everything to fix this with no result, sent a message to the developers and nothing. Why cant we export pictures to the camera roll? very buggy…..

Since few days the multiple photos import is not working anymore. I now just can import one by one. Thats so annoying. I deleted the app. Installed it again. Switched my phone off/on. I dont know what happened. Really loved the possibilty to import multiple photos. I want it back!

Sorry just realized it now. Thank you Bosco! So much! I switched on the location on my iphone (not in camera+ – i looked for that first ;)) and now i can import a lot of photos at once!
    Thank you so much!
