Digg for iPhone released ~ we celebrate with 2 weeks of iPad awesomeness!
A little over a year ago, I posted about my 2009 Macworld Expo trip. In that post, I mentioned that we paid a casual visit to the Digg offices and had lunch with Kevin Rose. What I didn’t mention was that during that lunch the idea was tossed around about us doing the official Digg app.
Without a doubt, Digg has greatly contributed to our success since our stuff has hit the Digg front page so many times over the years. We’re all big fans of Digg here, so the opportunity to actually work on something like this was one we simply couldn’t pass up, even though we basically always turn down any 3rd-party work that comes our way (we’d just rather work on our own apps).
Well, a lot of time has passed between then and now, and to make a long story short regarding its development… we’re really excited to announce today that the Digg app is finally available for your iPhone and iPod touch!
It’s available for free so you have no excuse not to snatch it up right now.
Here’s the official announcement from Digg about the app:

A team effort
A lot of people here worked really hard on this app. Scott had a vision for the app and oversaw all of its creation. The team he led consisted of the marvelous Wolfgang Bartelme and David Lanham on design, while Oliver Cameron, John Eddie and the newest member of our team, Devin Ross, coded it all up. To round things out, Phill and I threw in our 2¢ here and there on UI and design issues.
Be sure to visit our About page for details on all of our team members.
2 weeks of iPad awesomeness!
To celebrate the launch of the app, we’re giving out 14 custom, limited edition iPads pimped-out by ColorWare. One per day over the next two weeks…
We hope you enjoy the Digg app. We put in a ton of time on it trying to make it as great as we could.

Love the app and can’t wait for updates to address the bugs. On a side note, I feel the digg and bury buttons should be reversed. I’ve accidentally buried articles I wanted to digg, but I can’t undo it.
Thanks for the app, and at the price of free, you can’t beat it!

Argh, why is iPhone OS 3.1 required? Does it use the augmented reality additions? Please add support for 3.0 – I’m sure it’ll work just fine on it as-is.

The Ipad is a really interesting device with the awesome revolutionary features of the iphone but of course Apple had took take it to the next step in technology and make this large screen so versatile and easy to use. I cant live without my Iphone and I’m sure that is how everyone will feel about their Ipad
