Objectified

“Today you find only a few companies that take design seriously, as I see it. And at the moment that is an American company. It is Apple.”
— Dieter Rams
Former Design Director, Braun
If you’re passionate about design, I highly recommend that you check-out the documentary, Objectified. If you’re an Apple fan then you’ll likely enjoy it even more since there’s a great interview with Jonathan Ive, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Industrial Design.
It’s available on DVD or you can rent or buy it on the iTunes Store (although, I don’t understand why you can only rent, but not buy it in HD there).
Let me know what you think of it…

Strongly recommended for everyone. not just design people! Saw it at a screening at the university last year. Director Gary Hustwit was there for a discussion afterwards. Really bright and nice person.

Great one. I loved Helvetica more but both are recommended for everyone (and not only the design world).
Fantastic!

Totally agree, was very inspiring, think i saw it at the right time, was in a bit of a design/work slump.
Also love Dieter Rams work.

Caught it on PBS a few weeks ago, and loved it. Chris Bangle’s comment about the difficulty of designing the rear end of a car is pretty funny, if you know his history with BMW.

Stupid thing isn’t available in Europe. iTunes movies aren’t available and the DVD is out of stock.
