A-freakin’-men. I entered a bug report for every revision of 2.0 for this awful annoyance.

Hmmm… I actually find it really useful the fact that it repeats the message alert.
It’s good to have the feature to turn it on or off, but I leave mine on ;)

    Beautiful blog by the way.

Seems to be a very subjective subject!

My colleague hates the feature with a passion, whilst I quite like it as I often forget to reply straight away…

I hated it, too. Glad it’s gone. Really.

Hope they would do the same with fraking Cover Flow, it sucks so bad…

Always good to have choice, but I found it useful. I would often be too busy to reply and the reminder was handy. You can always dismiss the initial text with a quick unlock if you chose.

It is always good tohavea choice! I believe it would be handy on midded calls too!

How can someone hat a feature wich can be turned off? Everyone who is glad that this feature is gone is simply an idiot. BEcause you can turn it OFF and its not your problem anymore. For those who realy liked it… its gone… congratulation.

    @ JamesBond

I suspect that you’re responsible for writing a lot of App Store reviews. :P

For what it’s worth I’ve always liked this feature. Many times I’ve heard an SMS alert, checked my phone and found the screen off, which means I only heard the repeat alert and missed it the first time around.

I’m not really sure why people seem to hate this so much to the point of being so vocal about it.

That one I’ll grant you: I hardly ever use the iPhone’s coverflow mode either.

FYI, this functionality has been in there since 2.0

    @ AJalota:

The feature has been there since OS 2.0. The ability to turn it off is new with OS 3.0. That’s the point.

my songs keep repeating, and people keep saying to go to the album art, and then tap the repeat button, but i cant find the repeat button?

I love Cover Flow, it’s so cool like looking through album covers instead of title texts. However, I want a general option to turn auto-orientation off so I can view my iPod playlist and browse Safari while laying on my side.

Wikipanion and Stanza have it, can’t believe Apple leave it out.

As for SMS repeat alert, I’m happy it’s gone!

I like coverflow but it sorts by artist and then album with no option to just have the list sorted alphabetically by album name that I can find.

When I’m using coverflow I’m looking through album covers so I’m thinking about album names. If I want to find a particular album that comes to mind I have to try and remember what artist name the album is under or whether it has more than one artist and will end up being sorted under the artist name “Various Artists”.

I can see the rational for sorting it the way it is but my brain doesn’t handle it well so I don’t use coverflow as much as I would like to. It would be nice if Apple gave the option to sort coverflow on the iPhone by album name instead of just artist/album.

That’s all I have to say about cover flow on the iPhone for now :p.
