Voices 2 released

December 20, 201036 comments

I’m happy to announce that a big update to our #1 hit app,Voices, is now available. Like Voices 1, Voices 2 was created in conjunction with the fine chaps at Taptivate.

Voices 2

Here are some of the things that are new in it…

Voices 2 contains 9 awesome new voice effects, raising the total to 27. The new ones are:

new voice effects

Of course, we’ve redone all the graphics for retina display for all of you with an iPhone 4 or latest generation iPod touch.

We’ve included a new “echo” feature so that you can test out each voices effect before you start recording. And you’ll no longer have to wait around for your recordings to be processed because it’s all done MUCH faster now.

change your voice effect

Our most commonly requested feature has been to be able to change your recordings to the various voice effects and you’ll be happy to know that you now can.

A couple of other cool, new things are the ability to send your recordings via text message and the ability to switch between your AirPlay speakers right within the app (which makes for a great prank!).

Voices 2 is a free upgrade for existing users. And if you don’t already own it, you can join the 600,000 users and grab it for the super-low 99¢ intro price. It also makes the perfect stocking-stuffer so consider gifting it to anyone who loves having fun with their iPhone or iPod touch.

You can find out lots more about Voices 2 and even hear samples of the available voice effects by going to

The Camera+ update is going to be a new app or I will be able to just upgrade the old version for free?
Anyway I’m glad to hear news from you guys! ;)

Sorry, won’t be buying Camera+ anymore. You lost all credibility with your prolonged silence and utter lack of care. I won’t risk getting screwed over again. After all I bought Convert, now abandonware (STILL not updated for iPhone 4’s display!).

Good to hear something about Camera+, but seriously guys, you should have said something sooner. Would instill drastically better confidence in your users.

Really? A side note is all we get after all this time?

Glad to see Camera+ making a reappearance though.

Huzzah! Glad to see Camera+ is coming back. Hope you’re not charging the original users for the update.

I am glad you guys seem back, but you don’t deserve a price for customer satisfaction !

Always a big mouth on your blog but never deliver updates… well till today we finally see Voices 2. Converter is next I hope !

Do you really care about the people buying your stuff ?

I have to agree with the others who feel your complete silence for the last four months was highly unprofessional. And that was on top of trying to sneak in a feature that has already been specifically rejected by Apple.

I’ll look at the new version if it’s free update to previous version but I won’t be giving you anymore of my money. I really can’t recommend anything you could do that would restore my respect for you. Camera+ has been replaced by ProCamera on my phone.

Voice 2 looks great. Shouldn’t you guys change the icon to blue since the app UI is like that now?

    Cheers, waiting for Camera+ eagerly.

I switched to ProCamera, too! Regular updates, good customer service (or customer service at all!). I think you could have told us disappointed customers what’s going on.. Sorry, another not returning customer..

PLEASE blast out many tweets when camera+ is launched. Try slipping in the volume button snap too! :P

I guess people have a right to be angry, but I don’t get it. Even with all the silence, my camera+ app has kept working and I’ve used it and loved it everyday. For the price I paid for it - it that would have been the last version I see, it would have been fine. Oh yeah, and I also enjoy the volume trigger.

As long as you keep making great releases - you have my money. Update and support in the ios world ( and prices ) is nice, but I certainly am not going to feel all entitled after spending $4 bucks.

Sounds good. But what was the hold-up? Why didn’t you answer any mails, twitter messages, or comments here?

  21. Dean Mayers
    4:39pm, December 20, 2010

I hope Camera+ gets a free update because Jason Casasanta will not be getting any more money from me.

  22. Mike H
    4:56pm, December 20, 2010

I have to agree with the comments about abysmal customer service. It’s only luck that Camera+ still works on iOS 4.2; I’m sure you’re aware there were keyboard problems on 4.1… what if the iOS update had killed the app altogether? Would you have cared? I and many people are leaning towards “no” based on the comments already.

I’ll be looking at the Camera+ update but, have also defected to ProCamera in the last couple of weeks and have a much better feeling about those guys.

I’m afraid you won’t be getting any more money from my family of iOS devices, nor through the MacHeist bundle; you’ve only got yourselves to blame.

I’m really excited about this. Camera+ really pioneered things with the separate focus/exposure controls, and they serve a lot of credit for that.

    5:33pm, December 20, 2010

I bought Voices 2 not because I want to sound like a guitar, but to support the return of Camera+.

Please find a way to geo-tag the photos, that is the one thing the built-in camera app still has over your app!

Hooray!! Huzzah!!! Camera+ is back in business!!

Still have it on my computer (I love being able to keep apps on my computer like that) and will reinstall shortly, once I get a new Apple sync cable.

Can’t wait, and I sincerely hope you fixed the stupid problem with the photos losing their EXIF data the minute you exported any photos to the Camera Roll. I will most definitely be checking that out.

Also, I think I found something to talk about for my Thursday blog post, too. I’m going to probably talk for a bit about how much I loved Camera+, even though I’m still on an iPhone 3G and cannot even so much as use all the amazing features you guys packed into that app!

And as far as the way too long wait time for news, I understand that fully. If it were me, I wouldn’t want anyone to know that a) I was still working on the app, and b) that I was adding additional cool bonus features for the app’s glorious return to the App Store on top of resubmitting for approval.

Camera+ has been stable and the main stay app on my phone Almost switched to ProCamera but their editor looks like crap. If you guys have added video camera support thats all I need. Stoked your coming back!

    10:22am, December 21, 2010

Of course I will gladly embrace the new Camera+ update! I loved this app and I’m thrilled you guys are back….BUT in all seriousness you have definitely damaged your credibility and will have to earn customer trust back. Even I’m a little nervous going forward about your customer service. You’re not off to a good start there by not addressing the absence and apologizing to those who needed help with your apps but got no response. Even a little would go a long way right now. Other camera apps with your features have debuted and are successful so you may be in for some humble pie in the App Store. Ball’s in your court.

I am certainly happy that camera+ is back in the store!
I bought your voices app to help you guys financially. And I think my girlfriend and I will have fun with the app too :P

I don’t know where you guys have been for 4 months, but I’m excited for the return of this app! I have that camerapro app. But it just doesn’t feel the same. I deleted camera+ because of that bug where it would take pictures on its own. Then tried to reinstall all to the dismay that it had been lost from the app store.. :(

I hope you get the geotagging right. And HDR! that’s one thing camerapro doesn’t have. Along with it missing your amazing UI

Am I the only one iTunes wants to charge $1.99 to install this version? As many others have posted, we feel like you really don’t care about your customers and don’t communicate well. So if this isn’t a free upgrade I’m done. And that iTunes is asking me to pay again isn’t looking good.

  30. Rob
    6:26pm, December 21, 2010

hey…i’m being asked to buy it again too. What gives? Sorry, but I will not buy it again. Who would? You’re gonna have some pretty pissed off people if you don’t address this right away.

  31. Paul
    6:34pm, December 21, 2010

Hey, WTF?? Version 2.0 is not an update??? So, u think that we gonna pay twice for yer own stupidity?? No, thanks, I’m out.

  32. Mike
    6:35pm, December 21, 2010

Me too, I’m not willing to try just to see. I don’t think it’ll charge you but it’s not worth my $2 to find out.

Leave a review instead, let them know how you feel.

  33. Rob
    6:39pm, December 21, 2010

WOAH….ok…It’s just come up as a FREE update. Chill everyone.

  34. PV
    6:41pm, December 21, 2010

I don’t get it. You want us to pay again? Are you serious? If so, I think that you will lose all of your clients soon with such attitude.

  35. Jeremy
    6:43pm, December 21, 2010

Looks like Camera+ is on sale for $0.99 but it still has not showed up as an update for me.

    6:46pm, December 21, 2010

    @ Steve Feinstein,
    @ Rob,
    @ Paul,
    @ Mike,
    @ PV,

    Everyone calm down.

The Camera+ update is free to existing users. If you don’t believe us, just wait until it appears in your update list.

I’m closing comments now so nobody else who comes to this page will see any more misinformation from people who think the sky is falling.

I feel sad for humanity sometimes.

In any case, we’ll have more to report back tomorrow…
